I first heard about the AMTA organization mainly for their benefits which became my reasoning for the membership right out of massage school.  Through my years as a member and as a massage therapist, my desire to do something more was getting stronger.  I saw opportunities for ways I could be more involved.  I feel very blessed to be a part of this state chapter and happy to share my strengths with my fellow massage therapists.Becky Ohlson

I was taught the value of what your professional association should mean to you as a massage student, so I knew I always wanted to give back to the profession and help in any way I could. Volunteering my time for the advocacy of others in the massage profession has been the most rewarding thing I feel I can do with my career. I chose to serve because it’s ingrained in the very fiber of what we do as massage therapists.  We educate our clients and ourselves, we move forward as an integrative health profession, and we celebrate the accomplishments of ALL therapists and fight for our profession every chance we get. That is why I serve. I am proud to be an AMTA Member and to serve my local chapter. Mitchell Lowry- Lee

I chose to serve in the AMTA to help grow our profession and cement our recognition in Healthcare. Massage is an increasingly recognized skill that can help those in need to have a more independent and pain-free life.Beverly Riley

I got involved in AMTA right out of school. I feel it is important to give back where one can and this organization has been very instrumental in my growth as a massage professional. AMTA offers great benefits with insurance, but also continuing educational opportunities, networking, and getting to make a difference in moving our profession forward.Lora VanEtten

I initially joined AMTA ‘by default’; at one time, AMTA was the only provider of affordable liability insurance.  Even after our profession offered other options for insurance, I chose to stay with AMTA for the ability to volunteer on a local level.  I continue to serve and remain committed to AMTA-NE because AMTA offers local representation and opportunities to give back to our profession.Lisa Bradley

After the onslaught of legislative bills introduced in 2017, I realized the importance of our association and being a part of a community: a group of professionals, who are working to protect the best interest of our clients and profession. I knew I wanted to become more involved but didn’t know where I would find the time: I own my own business, live outside of Lincoln, have a family… But as the issues continued and I saw the hard work our leaders were putting in for us, I decided to find the time. I am SO glad I did. Not only do I now have a voice in moving massage therapy forward, I have the opportunity to get to know other therapists around the state, grow my perspective and my network, and become a better massage therapist.Briana Cudly
